Parkdale
Sire PD296
Seen here in 6 months wool, is a Poll Merino ram carrying the bare breech trait. This sire has been used extensively in the Parkdale stud. Born in 2005, his fleece had a mean diameter of 19.1 microns and a coefficient of variation of 14.1% at 16 months of age. Note the open face with no wool growing on the jaw line or on the legs. The ram has a massive frame and is highly fertile. In 2009, PD296 was joined to 100 ewes and these ewes reared 160 lambs. The ram has bred exceptionally well with 72% of his ram weaners kept as ram sale prospects and potential sires at the February 2010 classing. He has been joined as a Frame ram to Wool ewes. His outstanding muscling and fat we
believe account for, at least in part, for the extraordinary ability of his progeny to withstand climatic extremes such as drought and the recent wet summer with its high challenge from gastrointestinal worm infections.
This ram is able to wipe away the heavy skin development and wrinkle seen in many Merino flocks.

Seen here in 6 months wool, is a Poll
Merino ram and is the youngest of the battery of bare breeched sires at Parkdale. Born in 2007, he has been used as a Wool sire. His wool is exquisitely soft and long which is evident from his fleece surface. Fifty two percent of his ram weaners have been kept as ram sale prospects and potential sires at the February 2010 classing. He has the same ”new look” that PD296 has, and that, we believe all Merino sheep will need to have. Note
his plain and wrinkle free body, the open and clean face, long ears and clean legs.
